Miss Jemima Puddleduck & Donkey Kong

I recently added a blog post about including special toys, stuffed animals and blankets in a photo session for kids. Thanks to this thoughtful mama we had several really special things during this family shoot.I am going to refer to this pretty redhead as Miss Jemima Puddleduck. Her mama commented several times during the session how she reminded her of Miss Jemima Puddleduck. I thought it was too cute, and described her perfectly. You see she is most definitely in the "puddleduck" stage. The "puddleduck" stage occurs right after a little one starts to walk and lasts for a couple of months after. They stick their bellies out, and sort of waddle like a puddleduck. This stage is absolutely adorable, and I distinctly remember when Hazen stopped walking like a "puddleduck!" It broke my heart. Luckily, we will have another "puddleduck" when Dusty starts to walk. Miss Jemima Puddleduck loves her Donkey Kong. This Donkey Kong is a very special stuffed animal. This Donkey Kong was given to Miss Jemima Puddleduck's mama when she was 4 years old.It was given to her by a family of three boys.It was given to her to comfort her when her father died in a tragic car accident. Now all these years later her daughter (Miss Jemima Puddleduck) is snuggling & loving Donkey Kong just like she did as a girl. This is exactly what I meant when I wrote about how something like Donkey Kong can take a picture, and make it hold so much more meaning. She also brought along another special doll for her oldest daughter, and some special snuggle blankets for her girls. I know this mama won't regret including these special items during our family session. It just makes capturing these moments extra special. I have lots more to come, and hope to have the rest of the pictures up by the end of this week! The Rancher's Wife Kate
