Independence
I'm participating in a 52 week project with 16 other photographers. We have a theme each week, and post a picture every Friday at 9AM Est.Our theme this week is independence. If you are interested in reading more about our themes each week click here. The evening before the 4th of July, we went for a drive with just our family. It is when I took the pinwheel photos.I love $ pinwheels, and hope to make it a tradition every year to take a picture of my boys with their pinwheels. At least until they are too old, and will no longer play with a pinwheel. Thanks to Grandma Susie for letting me borrow this pinwheel.I ended up getting that silly pinwheel stuck in my hair before the mini photoshoot with my boys. I had to walk around the car WITH A PINWHEEL STUCK IN MY HAIR so that my husband could help me get it out! There were several mountain climbers pulled over as well enjoying the scenic view, and mountain climbing for the 4th of July holiday. I'm sure they were wondering about my new hair style. I had so much fun playing with light, and texture in these photos. Then on the 4th, we went to the town parade. The boys nabbed the glasses you see below at the parade. I love them.I can't think of anything more American than eating watermelon with liberty sunglasses on in your skivvies.I thought my newphew said it best when he said "Mom, I love our country. There aren't any wars in it. Thanks to our American soldiers."He happens to be six. I couldn't have said it any better.Happy 4th of July! Now head over to Chrissy's blog to check out her take on the theme this week! I can't wait to see it.
