Nature
Can you believe it is Friday again? Why is it that summer seems to fly by ... before we know it school is going to start and there is going to be a Fall crispness to the air. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (okay I'm done feeling sorry for myself!).I'm participating in a 52 week project with 16 other photographers. We have a theme each week, and post a picture every Friday at 9AM Est.Our theme this week is nature. If you are interested in reading more about our themes each week click here. This shot was taken from our front porch. If you are in the business of grazing cattle this picture makes you smile because the yearlings are all bunched together in one piece eating contentedly. My husband cell grazes the cattle which means he moves them to different sections of the ranch every couple of days. It seems to help the grass grow back better, and keeps the yearlings gaining weight. He will then use a section of grass again after he gives it a rest for a couple of weeks. The pictures below were taken on the ranch on the other side of Elk Mountain. They still put hay up which is something we quit doing a couple of years ago.The boys had a blast riding in the swather, and I could not resist snapping a few pictures of the hay. It smells so good after its been cut, and I was even able to capture an image of the hay before it was cut. Some of it was almost above my head! oh and just a word to the wise...you will face plant if you run into the hay going too fast after you jump out of the swather!Lucky for Fischer he got up before I could catch him in the act.Now head over to Chrissy's blog to check out her take on the theme this week! I can't wait to see it.
