The Rancher's Wife Heads to Town

The Hood House has been a fixture in Saratoga since 1892. It wasn’t always a B&B, but since the 80’s it has provided a welcoming space for thousands of travelers and families of locals. Owner Carol Smith and her daughter, Addie Fletcher, team up to provide a hearty breakfast featuring fresh homemade bread that uses a recipe Carol learned from her Grandmother-In-Law. It’s a pinch of this, handful of that--just like the homespun style of hospitality that keeps people coming back year after year. The Hood House feels like your own personal vacation home. Guests have access to a fenced yard, full kitchen, and modern conveniences like laundry, wireless internet, and satellite TV in the common areas. But upstairs you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back to an era where time moves a little slower. Where you can leave your cell phones and worries behind and venture out into the natural beauty that awaits in the Good Times Valley...For reservations and more information, contact Carol Smith at 307-326-8901, info@hoodhousebnb.com, or go to www.hoodhousebnb.com.

A note from the Rancher's Wife
It's the little details about The Hood House that I wanted to capture. It truly is a place where you feel like you have stepped back in time. All I wanted to do (while I was taking pictures!) was grab a book from the main room, a cup of homemade lemonade and head out to the covered porch. I especially loved the pink claw foot tub upstairs, and how each of the rooms have a separate name placed on the door as you enter. It is just a lovely place...and that is all there is to it!!!
