Hi I'm Kate. We live on a ranch outside of Saratoga, Wy. Our log house faces Elk Mountain, and I've spent many mornings watching the sun rise over the mountain. I'm a wife to a hardworking rancher. I'm a mama to three boys and one baby girl. I hope when you look through my images you see the simple, sweet things of life magnified. It is what I set out to capture every time I work with a family, couple or child. I also hope that you get a sense that I'm a pretty 'down to earth person.' Please do take some time to look through my images, and pricing. It seems to make the whole process go smoother, and I do my best to inform each of my clients from the beginning what to expect from our sessions.

If you would like to learn more about my style check out my photography portfolio. If you are interested in booking a session with me please use the CONTACT form.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it.

    A Tea Party

I’ve always been a fan of Anne of Green Gables, and when I think of Anne one thing that always comes to mind is tea parties.

At the beginning of the year, I asked Great Grandma Nelda if I could have a few of her tea cups for Elizabeth. After our conversation, I decided that a tea party would be really special. I wanted to include Great Grandmas, Grandmas and Granddaughters.

After my Grandma Ewing passed away in April it became even more important to me to be sure to have this tea party. I called Kristi with my initial plans months ago. She is the go to girl for anything crafty and cute. She agreed that the idea sounded fun, and said she would make the invites and the name cards. She made invites for everyone, and even included people like my mom even though we knew she couldn’t come. It made my mom’s day, and she appreciated it so much. Luckily, we had lots of willing helpers to bring an assortment of tea party food. It helped so much because we decided to have the tea party in Cheyenne. It just made it feasible for Great Grandma Nelda to be able to be there. It was also a great half way point for those who were traveling from a different state.┬áIt was so worth the drive, and the unpacking and the repacking (ha ha ha!) to make it all happen in Cheyenne. We had such a great turn out, and it really made it special to see everyone together in one place.

Life is busy, and it is easy for the years to pass by without ever making it a point to get together. This seemed like the perfect way to have a very girly, fun morning with special ladies. The age range at the tea party went from 82 years to 2 years. I’m looking forward to the next tea party. I would like to make this a little tradition every year. It may not always happen at the same place, but it sure would be fun to recreate this special morning again. I made sure to bring a tiny tea set from my Grandma Ewing, and a tea pot and tea cups from my mom. Kristi also decorated with some of her Grandma’s stuff. I also made sure to bring my well loved Anne book. Hope you enjoy a little sneak peek into our morning! The light was tough. I just did the best that I could.

So beautiful! Is it a HUGE coincidence that I am rereading the Anne of Green Gables Series with my son just now? I am about half way through Anne of Avonlea. Perhaps we are Kindred Spirits?

A tea party would be a perfect way to have a celebration at the end of the books! Thank you for sharing the idea, and this special day with us!

What a very lovely Tea Party Kate, I love the idea and all looked so fantastic.
There is nothing better than getting together with family and close friends.
We will be in WI this August, I am planning my HS class reunion, our 50th, and so far it has gone well. I am doing it by myself, it was a small class only 42 initially, but it is worth the effort, just like your tea party was. Sweet idea and happening indeed!
    Peace and God Bless you.
