Don’t Miss It!

Don’t Miss It because you think your hips look too big or because you think you should lose “a couple more pounds” before you take family pictures.

Don’t Miss It because your hubby’s latest response to taking family pictures is “let’s just get it over with!”

Don’t Miss It because you are tired, busy & everyday life just seems to be overwhelming.

Don’t Miss It because your kids are fussy, tired and grouchy!

Don’t Miss It because it seems to take every ounce of energy to dress, comb and wipe their faces off after peanut butter and jelly.

I’ll make a wager with you that 20 years down the road you will be wishing for the hips you have right now.

You will wish you wouldn’t have been so focused on how you look.

20 years down the road you will just be happy that you took the time & energy to make family pictures happen….

Our kids will not be focused on what Mom looks like. They will just be happy for the memories of them with their Mom & Dad.

Kate, your words are oh how true. We took lots of pictures, but not like you do. It is “memories” that count the most. You are wise beyond your years.
“You blink” is oh so true.

I love it Ginger that you linked my page to your blogsite. It was my goal all along to inspire mom’s to take pictures with their kiddos.

Kate I came across your site through the Bloom Forum and the Creative Mama. I am also on the forum. I wanted to tell you I did a post that linked to this article you did. I love it and think it is a great inspiration to mothers. I hope you don’t mind me sharing!!! Best to you!

Thank you Michelle! I really appreciate it. This was a wonderful example of how fleeting our time is with our loved ones. We don’t want to miss it.

Have to agree with this, Kate.I was just looking back last night at old pictures and LOVE the ones where all 5 of us are in the picture – too few of those. Mom ALWAYS wanted a family picture when we all got together – the last one we have is one she insisted on even though it wasn’t convenient and everyone just wanted to get on with the afternoon. Noone knew she would get sick within 3 months and by that time the next year she’d be gone. You can imagine how glad we are for that picture….so Kate is right….don’t miss it. For anything.
