Johnny & Emily | 9.28.13

I stepped on the groom's fathers fly rod.It was a special Scott fly rod that his father had for years. It was one of those moments when you just have no words, and you definitely can't take it back. HA! I was so embarrassed, and didn't know what to do or say. It was at the end of the evening, and I asked Johnny and Emily to come down to the river for a few shots of just them. It was a fly fishing inspired wedding so it just seemed like the thing to do. We made it through all of the images, and then started walking back to the reception. I stopped them on the bride because the 'light was just right!' Johnny set the fly rod down on the bridge…and I got them all positioned correctly for that special shot…stepped back and CRUNCH. Luckily, the company does replace broken fly rods. Also I have to say that they were so gracious with me... so gracious and understanding and it is just the way they are…very laid back...I also will never…under any circumstances not be aware of where the fly rod is if I ever have a couple want shots with their fly rod! Yikes!!! I am not a fly fisherwoman, and did not realize that is something to be very aware of when using a fly rod. My fly fisherman husband informed me of that!I hope you enjoy this sneak peek into Johnny and Emily's special day. They are such an easy going, sweet couple. oh and this is the shot I was after on the bridge when that horrible CRUNCH happened...
